P:HC is dedicated to providing new designers with meaningful portfolio projects that can be showcased to future employers. Our mission is to create impactful digital solutions while nurturing the next generation of design talent. Interns will gain hands-on experience and the opportunity to transition into a paid position after the internship.

Role Overview:
We are seeking passionate Figma UI/UX (Volunteer) Interns who are eager to gain real-world experience in user interface and user experience design. (pay listed is for after volunteer position is completed and we decide to move forward to hiring, not right away) As part of our team, you will help build the ultimate versions of various features, create comprehensive documentation, use cases, and user journeys. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills, build your portfolio, and work alongside experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the design and development teams to create and refine UI/UX designs using Figma.
Develop user journeys, use cases, and detailed documentation for various features.
Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and improve designs.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative design ideas.
Ensure that all designs align with the set brand experience and project goals.
Attend two weekly meetings: a 15-minute checkup and a 1-hour full team development meeting.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Figma and a strong understanding of its features and capabilities.
Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
Familiarity with creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
Basic understanding of user research and usability testing methodologies.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and techniques.
Education & Experience:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
Previous experience with design projects (personal, academic, or professional) is a plus.
Work Environment:
Reliable internet connection for remote collaboration.
Ability to commit to 10-20 hours of work per week.
Flexibility to attend two weekly meetings: a 15-minute checkup and a 1-hour full team development meeting.
