Catoctin Mountain Park will be hosting a National Public Lands Day event on September 28th from 10am - 1pm! In honor of this celebration, we will be working at the Chesnut Picnic Area doing maintenance to get it ready for the fall season. Work will include:
- Cleaning fire pits and grills
- Mulching pathways to picnic areas
- Picking up trash
- Trimming back brush from the Spicebush Trail
- Cleaning of picnic tables and signs
Volunteers will be given all the tools and PPE (gloves, eye protection) needed. Make sure to bring water, comfortable outdoor wear, and closed toed shoes.
