Reports to: Chief People Officer

The Director of Volunteer Services at a BGHFoundation plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the volunteer program to ensure its success. Their day-to-day responsibilities might include:

Overseeing Volunteer Onboarding: Managing the onboarding process, including conducting interviews, performing background checks, and leading orientation/training programs to integrate new volunteers into the organization

Volunteer Support and Supervision: Providing ongoing support and supervision to volunteers, addressing any issues that arise, and maintaining accurate records of volunteer activities and performance.

Collaboration with Departments: Working closely with various departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities, ensuring that volunteer efforts align with the organization's goals and mission.

Approving Volunteer Titles and Bios: Managing the approval process for volunteer titles and bios, ensuring that they receive leadership approval and accurately reflect the volunteers' roles and contributions.

Report Creation and Information Storage: Overseeing the creation of reports and establishing efficient processes for storing and accessing volunteer information.

Monitoring Onboarding Process and Compliance: Managing the regular monitoring and updating of the volunteer onboarding process and compliance sheets to ensure they meet current standards and regulations.

Developing Volunteer Policies and Procedures: Contributing to the development and implementation of volunteer policies and procedures to maintain a structured and effective volunteer program.

This role requires a mix of management experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting, strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire volunteers, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
