Thank you for your interest in being a part of the St. Jude Walk planning committee! We are so thankful for you and your commitment to the kids of St. Jude! This year the St. Jude Walk (SJW) will take place in October 2025 at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. We are seeking volunteers interested in fulfilling any of the following roles for our 2025 St. Jude Walk Committee: Corporate Chair, Event Chair, Sponsorship Chair, Awareness Chair, Young Professional Chair, Social Media Chair, Volunteer Chair, and General Committee Members. We are always open to finding a spot for your unique skillset among our team!

Committee Objective: Lead. Inspire. Connect. Give. By participating on our SJW Committee, we are looking to you to help engage new and existing sponsors, donors, and teams to ensure we raise the necessary awareness and funds for our event. Leverage your leadership by inspiring your network to get involved with our mission. By doing so, we are one step closer to fulfilling Danny Thomas’ legacy that "no child should die in the dawn of life."

The Corporate Chair serves in a leadership role for corporate teams, sponsorship, and
engagement with businesses in the local community. This individual possesses strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to recruit new companies to participate in the St. Jude Walk.

Responsibilities (in partnership with St. Jude staff partner):

  • Be the voice and champion of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in your community.
  • Allow use of your name/company to drive income and corporate participation for the St. Jude Walk through sponsorships, team recruitment, and networking.
  • Form your own company Walk team and start fundraising efforts with a financial commitment through self-donation and/or sponsorship.
  • Work closely with Sponsorship Chair to create a list of potential sponsors and develop a solicitation strategy. Oversee Sponsorship Chair’s execution of securing sponsorship renewals and assist with identifying opportunities to increase financial support.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Team Development Chair on retention of prior Walk Corporate Teams and recruitment of new teams. Create registration goals and strategies for committee members to get new and past teams re-engaged.
  • Recruit, train and motivate subcommittee volunteers. Connecting all volunteer committee members with respective resources, training and materials needed to be successful in specific roles.
  • Lead and manage regular corporate committee meetings focused on action and accountability.
  • Attend priority subcommittee meetings as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with volunteer committee via regular meetings, phone calls and emails to monitor progress and drive accountability on assigned areas to ensure overall event goals are met.
  • Ensure all committee members, sponsors, top corporate teams and participants are thanked and recognized for their support.

Time Commitment: Approximately 4 hours a month (possibly more during August/September)

Committee Expectations for all Members and Chairs:

  • Attend 70% of the committee meetings, in-person or by zoom as communicated by chair and ALSAC staff
  • Register and create your own team and actively recruit individuals to join your walk team
  • Write or Raise: Actively fundraise for your walk team or secure a sponsors with a minimum of $2,500
  • Provide five (5) prospects for potential sponsorship asks
  • Recruit three (3) teams to participate in the St. Jude Walk
  • Participate in kick-off party, wrap up event and other walk related activities
  • Be accessible to St. Jude staff, and/or Event Chairs by responding promptly to requests via email or phone updates.
  • Serve as a St. Jude ambassador in the community
