Mentor A Promise is a non-profit organization, and our mission is to provide socio-emotional learning, academic support, and mentorship to students in temporary housing and facing housing instability. We partner with family temporary housing sites across New York, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a strong support network for young people experiencing homelessness, helping them overcome challenges and forge their own path to success.Become a vital part of our mission by volunteering as a Mentor for our students. Position Overview:

As a Reading Specialist, you will play a key role in advancing our work. You will assist in developing new curriculum and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, review, and maintain a comprehensive curriculum aligned with early learning standards and best practices.

· Ensure age-appropriate educational practices for all our students

· Collaborate with MAP’s leadership on curriculum alignment and performance measurement

· Serve as a resource for teaching staff, offering guidance and support to foster a culture of excellence.

Position Requirements:

·Knowledge of state and federal early childhood education regulations, including those relevant to Head Start programs.

·A strong commitment to the mission of providing high-quality education and fostering positive learning experiences for young children.

Desired Qualifications:

·Deep and demonstrable understanding of and capacity for curriculum design, learning experience design, andragogy, and theory of adult learning

·The ability to operate on both a tactical and a strategic level
