Our Summit Family

Calling for all Paws! Summit Hospice wants you! The use of pets in medical settings dates back more than 150 years! Florence Nightingale, a founder of modern nursing in the 19th century, recognized that animals provide great emotional support. The therapy dog brings feelings of joy, reduce feelings of isolation and anxiety, alienation, and depression. They can take their patient's mind off of their aches and pains and encourage communication - including sharing emotions and stories. Such great comfort!

We have patients all around the valley - many had to give up their beloved pets to gain entrance into their assisted living apartments and would love a pet visit to brighten their day!

Summit Hospice would love to welcome you and your certified therapy dog that is accreditated with a Therapy Dog Organization onto our team!

Don't have a therapy animal? That's okay, we'll still love to have you on our team! We just require a caring and loving nature!

Our volunteers often visit weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. We go by your schedule! You set the day and time. Please reach out to us and let's make this happen!
