BGCM is actively seeking remote Calculus tutors for the fall to winter season to assist high school students. This initiative aims to continue addressing the educational disruptions caused by COVID-19 and beyond by providing students with the specialized support and expertise needed to excel in Calculus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver virtual instruction in Calculus, providing assistance with homework and offering advanced study to keep students ahead of their class curriculum.
- Effectively utilize virtual learning platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet.
- Engage with students in a professional manner to ascertain and address their academic needs.
- Offer supportive and positive responses to student inquiries, providing clear and comprehensive explanations.
- Assist students in understanding complex Calculus concepts and guide them through problem-solving processes.
- Prepare and share concise progress reports with both students and parents after each tutoring session.
- Fulfill other related duties as necessary.
Job Details:
- Dates: September to December
- Schedule: Flexible, accommodating both the tutor's and the students' availability.
- Location: Remote; open to applicants residing in any US state. Please note that we are unable to accept applications from outside the United States at this time.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience in teaching or tutoring Calculus is preferred.
- Minimum education requirement: Current enrollment in or completion of a bachelor's degree program in mathematics or a related field; high-performing high school students with strong calculus skills will also be considered.
- Strong command of virtual teaching tools and platforms.
- Excellent multitasking skills to manage different students and learning sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and pay close attention to detail.
- Consistent and reliable availability throughout the tutoring period.

Located in the heart of Jackson, NJ, we specialize in improving the self esteem of youth and families in surrounding suburban as well as underrepresented and underprivileged communities, while promoting integrity and stewardship, and offering, to youth in our surrounding states from Maine to North Carolina, an innovative opportunity to train, excel, and compete academically, artistically, and athletically.
