Sumter Habitat for Humanity's ReStore is looking for volunteers to lend a hand. Our core staff work hard every day to keep our retail areas neat, clean, and ready to sell but it can be a challenge. We love friendly, organized volunteers who can come in and help accept donations, serve shoppers, and be a part of our year-round fundraiser for affordable housing.

ReStore Hours are Tuesday thru Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday, from 9am-3pm. Volunteers are welcome at any time during store hours, but must be 18 y.o. (16-17 y.o. welcome with permission from legal guardian and a supervising adult 25+). We respectfully request volunteers sign up for a minimum of 2 hours to ensure we can properly get you settled and shown around. Thank you for volunteering your valuable time!

Seeking to put God's love into action, Sumter Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope by partnering families in need with volunteers and resources.
Description
Sumter Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1987 and to date, has built 128 affordable homes in the Sumter area. In 2023, we started groundwork for building affordable senior housing and accessibility ramps to empower low-income elderly citizens to stay in their homes. These projects are made possible by volunteers like YOU!
We have two main areas for volunteers to partner with us:
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is filled and funded by donations and all proceeds go towards our mission. While we have a core staff, managing the donations and purchases of our customers can be challenging! We work hard every day to keep our retail areas neat, clean, and ready to sell. We love volunteers who can come in and help accept donations, serve shoppers, and be a part of our year-round fundraiser.
We also have year-round build sites with our Site Foreman and Crew Leads, but they can't build homes efficiently by themselves. You can contribute your time, energy, and skills towards accomplishing the goal of ending substandard housing. While we greatly appreciate volunteers who have construction or 'handman' knowledge and experience, it is NOT a requirement to come assist on projects!
In partnership with the people and businesses of Sumter, we will continue building homes, communities, and hope. Thank you for volunteering!
