Position Title: Positive Presence Volunteer - Hospice Volunteer
Location: Serving Communities Throughout the Toledo & NWO Area
Organization: Care360 Hospice
About Us:
At Care360 Hospice, we are dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care to our patients and their families. Our team of healthcare professionals and volunteers work together to offer comfort, dignity, and support during this important phase of life.
Joining our team as a Hospice Volunteer means becoming a source of comfort for those in their final days. As a Companion Volunteer, your role is to be a gentle presence for patients who may feel alone or scared. It’s about offering emotional support, a warm smile, or simply holding their hand while they share their thoughts. Your visits can become a treasured moment in their day, creating a bond that brings joy and ease to their experience, helping them to feel less isolated during a challenging time.
Additionally, your contributions can extend beyond direct patient care. Many hospice patients require support with administrative tasks, such as organizing bereavement mailings and helping with arts and crafts. These activities can provide comfort to both patients and their families, ensuring that everyone feels cared for. By lending a hand in these areas, you are playing a vital role in the hospice team. Your efforts can assist in creating a welcoming environment where patients feel valued and loved, making their days brighter and more meaningful.
If you're curious about how you can share comfort in hospice care, I’m here to help! It’s not about being a certain type of person but rather about being genuine and present. Many people worry that they don’t have the right skills, but companionship can be as easy as sitting with someone, holding their hand, or sharing a memory. Your willingness to be there can create moments of joy and serenity, not just for the patient but also for their loved ones. Together, we can fill the room with love and light.
Flexible hours around your schedule.
How to Apply:
If you are interested in becoming a Hospice Volunteer and providing companionship to our patients, please complete your interest and submit any relevant information through VolunteerMatch. Join us in our mission to bring comfort and support to those in need. Your presence can make a profound impact in someone's life. We look forward to welcoming you to our volunteer team!
