English Tutors Needed (for high school student volunteers)

English Reading Comprehension (For High School Student Volunteers only)

English tutors are needed to assist students to learn improve students' English skills.

  • One Grade 6 student;
  • One Grade 9 student.
English Level: G6 student: English as the first language. G9 student: English as the second language. Expectation: Assist the student in go through reading worksheets that are provided with. Starting Date: Any soonest day that the tutor can start Session duration: 60 mins Sessions in a week: 1 or 2 sessions per week Preferred time slots: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm ET on Weekdays or Weekends. Minimum Weeks to commit: Four. Instruction languages: English Teaching materials: G6: choose a novel to work on together. G9: reading comprehension worksheets are ready and available. The class time will be scheduled after considering the availabilities of the student and the tutor.

How to apply
If you wish to become a BEA English tutor to participate this summer programs or later in the next school years, please -
1. fill out a volunteer application form for high school students published on our website at: www.brookedge.org; AND
2. send over your most recent school report that contains your English performance or score to brookedgeacademy@gmail.com.

If you pass the initial review, you will receive an invitation for an interview of 15 minutes.

BrookEdge Academy ("BEA") is a not-for-profit organization incorporated federally, whose idea founders and program operators are the students who are committed to change the world kinder by helping younger students. BEA offers quality education programs to children for free, covering Homework Support, Virtual Parties, Fun Clubs, Summer Workshops and Learning Groups. The Academy actively recruits student volunteers to breathe fun and purpose to its online programs. The Academy is a student-driven organization, and student volunteers have the options to volunteer from home.
