ORGANIZATION: Girls on the Run of the Rockies

  • Spots available: 3

Girls on the Run coaches are trained volunteers who lead a team of participants through a season of powerful and fun lessons. You do not need to be a runner; you simply need to have a desire to support and encourage the next generation. Coaches receive all the tools and support they need and find that they get as much out of coaching as they give.

Requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Complete our Coach Registration form.
  • Consent to and complete a background check.
  • Obtain a CPR/First Aid certification & email a copy to cpr@girlsontherunrockies.org before the first practice.
  • Coaches must be available after-school hours, typically between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
  • Our 10 week programs meet twice a week, after school for an hour and a half. Coaches are expected to attend every session.
  • All New coaches must attend one of the in-person training sessions offered for the season, as well as complete online coursework via the GOTR Learning Academy prior to training.
  • The total time investment of training is approximately 6-8 hours.
  • Seasons run in the fall (September - November).

Mission Statement

We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

Description

Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 physical activity-based positive youth development (PA-PYD) program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. The Girls on the Run(r) program combines training for a 5k with an interactive curriculum targeting the promotion of competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution.

Volunteers make the program possible for 5,000 girls annually along the Front Range. We hope you will join us to empower girls in 2025. Here are a few things we recently heard from our participants and their families:

"I learned that in Girls on the Run you can be who you want to be." - Alexis, Foothills Elementary

"Girls on the Run helped my girl learn to achieve great things and that she is powerful and amazing." - Erica, a parent at Rocky Mountain Prep: Creekside

We look forward to meeting you! We are truly grateful for all the people who have touched this organization and believe in helping girls learn to know and activate their limitless potential.
