Are you a creative who loves turning raw material into engaging content that tells a story? Have you been searching for opportunities to give back and serve humanity? Do you know how to capture positive attention in a crowded digital space? Would you like to help our nonprofit with visual storytelling and connecting with audiences? Then we want to makes you a part of our team.

We are looking for a Volunteer Social Media Content Creator to join our team and help promote LEDI on social media. This role will involve creating engaging and visually appealing content to raise awareness of LEDI’s programs, highlight success stories, and encourage donor support.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and curate raw video footage and still images to create visually appealing content tailored for various social media platforms.
  • Develop compelling narratives and captions that resonate with our audience.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices to ensure content is relevant and engaging.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align content with brand messaging and campaign goals.
  • Analyze engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of content and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Create and schedule content across multiple platforms, ensuring timely delivery and consistency.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in video editing and graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop).
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their specific content requirements.
  • Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to create captivating narratives from raw material.
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and a passion for visual communication.

The ideal volunteer will use existing content, pictures, videos, graphics, and/or create new evergreen materials - to help us tell our story and reach broad and diverse audiences. Ideally can work independently or collaboratively.

Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) is a US-based, 501 (c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization with an international focus providing life changing literacy, economic development and humanitarian programs and interventions to disadvantaged people in Liberia, West Africa, which is the fourth poorest country in the world. Since 2007, LEDI has provided over 750 educational scholarships and empowered countless individuals and communities through economic development and humanitarian relief.
