ORGANIZATION: Franklin County Children Services
Please visit the new page to apply.
Program Description and Who We’re Seeking:
Our College-Bound Program aims to encourage youth to pursue post-secondary education while also emphasizing the development of essential life skills. Through mentorship within the program, we focus on cultivating individual connections, introducing innovative programming, and strengthening community ties. Currently, we are recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers to serve as mentors for six months as part of our inaugural mentor Cohort, "60 for Six."
Why Volunteer With Us?
Your involvement directly addresses the urgent need for mentorship, including in the College-Bound Program. Currently, there are over 60 youth eagerly awaiting mentors, and with your assistance, we could expand our services to reach many more.
How It Works:
Sign up to Register for our inaugural "60 for Six" Mentor Cohort, which runs from August 2024 to February 2025. Volunteers will receive mentor training and support before being matched and engaging with their mentee in meaningful cultural, educational, and social activities, facilitating personal and professional growth for the youth involved - all at no cost to the Volunteer.
Interested?

Mission Statement
Franklin County Children Services provides services for abused, neglected, and troubled children and their families. Social workers and other professionals provide protection and care to children through in-home counseling and out of home placement when needed. Many children under the care of Children Services depend on volunteers and mentors to guide them through difficult times. Volunteers and mentors share time with their matched youth at least twice a month and make a 6-month commitment to that child. Our 4 Volunteer Program opportunities are designed to enrich the lives of those who give the gift of time and sharing, as well as enrich the life of child that will last forever.
