¡ADELANTE LATINA! IS CURRENTLY RECRUITING VOLUNTEER TUTORS FOR THURSDAYS FROM 4PM-6PM!
¡Adelante Latina! is a free, three-year college access program for academically driven Latina students attending Baltimore City public high schools. The goal of ¡Adelante Latina! is to help students overcome many socioeconomic and academic barriers so that they are accepted into college with adequate financial support.
¡Adelante Latina! is searching for qualified tutors to help students one-on-one improve their English composition, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Tutoring will be held on Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm at Notre Dame of Maryland University starting in September 2024 and for the duration of the school year.
Tutors typically volunteer for three years, helping the same student from sophomore to senior year.

Mission Statement
¡Adelante Latina! is a three-year, after-school college preparatory program that empowers Latina high school students in Baltimore City to overcome many socioeconomic and academic barriers so that they are accepted into a college or university with adequate financial support.
Description
With the dedication of certified teachers and compassionate tutors, ¡Adelante Latina! strives to improve students’ academic performance specifically in the areas of reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing.
The program also offers enriching cultural excursions and experiences, hosts an annual, week-long Summer College Bootcamp at Notre Dame of Maryland University, and assists students with acquiring summer internships.
In students’ senior year of high school, ¡Adelante Latina! teachers guide the students through the college application process with a senior curriculum focused on essay writing, test taking, and financial planning.
