The American Red Cross has an internship opportunity within the Service to Armed Forces and International Humanitarian Law department. The Red Cross Youth Action Campaign informs youth ages 13-24 about International Humanitarian Law and encourages youth to build a peer-to-peer awareness campaign on an International Humanitarian Law topic. Ideal candidates possess excellent project management, group facilitation, and communication skills. The goals for an internship expands the knowledge on International Humanitarian Law, mentoring youth and developing their capacity for service, enhancing leadership and communication skills, building relationships with the Red Cross, volunteers, and community partners.
Internship Dates:
2024-09-02 to 2025-05-30
Qualifications:
* A passion for working with youth and an interest in IHL.
* Excellent project management, group facilitation, and communication skills.
* Must display flexibility, adaptability, initiative, and teamwork.
* Must possess the ability to present politicized issues in compliance with the American Red Cross’s neutrality mandate.
* Experience working with youth, the Red Cross, and IHL is preferred.
* Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies.
***Important Notice: Though the intership is primarily virtual, the interns need to be in person with mentor in either State College or Harrisburg.
