Our U.S.-based nonprofit has developed a Windows version of an offline web-emulator that makes it easy to distribute educational materials to people who lack Internet connectivity.
We now seek to do the same on Android. We need a Web server integrated with PHP and MySQL, using popular tools and development platforms that are likely to stand the test of time and still be useful in 10 years.
Candidates must have significant and demonstrable Android app and network development skills.

Help us provide high-quality educational resources to the billions of people who lack Internet access!
Chipster develops and distributes custom libraries in various subjects for offline use in laptops, computers, and smartphones. Looks and acts just like the Web!
We provide resources, coaching, training, and educational materials to schools, clinics, prisons, libraries and individuals in under served communities all over the world and the U.S.
With an off-line search engine, database capabilities, and extensive libraries of documents, Chipster personal libraries make a wealth of Web pages, images and videos, and interactive courses available off-line. The vision is giving people the option to "go to a library to check out a library."
Users can copy these offline libraries at will, making it possible for education and information to reach vast, unserved audiences.
