Road2Home is a nonprofit serving community members experiencing homelessness in Whatcom County. We provide enhanced sheltering and case management at Gardenview Village. We also provide vital connections to the community through our Volunteer Ally Program, while working to reduce stigma about homelessness in our community. In the past, Road2Home has responded to community needs and various temporary projects by providing winter shelters and other emergency programs as needed.

The Board of Directors works in conjunction with the Executive Director to provide guidance on the business affairs of the corporation. The Board develops organizational policies, adopts and oversees the budget, hires and manages the Executive Director (ED) and collaboratively engages with the ED in strategic planning and other major organizational decisions. The Board of Directors is not involved in the day-to-day management of the organization.

Board members attend and participate in bi-monthly board meetings. Board members may serve and lead on board committees and/or organizational committees as needed. Board members ensure they are staying up to date on activities that occur in the electronic communication space and communicate or respond as appropriate and/or requested. Board members support and participate in fund raising activities to the best of their capability by volunteering for events, attending events, sharing the organizations’ social media posts, representing the board and organization at events, donating, and being an ambassador for Road2Home in our community.
