At the Catholic Charities Community Services Immigration Division, we provide legal consultations and representation to clients living in NYC and the Lower Hudson Valley. Through different programming, we provide legal consultations, pro se app workshop assistance, and also provide referrals to clients, non-legal related. From providing legal representation to unaccompanied children, to recent arrivals who are in removal proceedings, the work we do is endless.

As a volunteer, you will:

Help translate a document from German-English, consisting of a 52 page document of an attorney's client rejected Asylum application they submitted in Switzerland.

This is a unique opportunity to volunteer directly with an asylum case. The Immmigration Division is in need of German translation assistance to aid in expedition of this client's case.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Volunteer must have strong German profiency
  • Access to a personal computer
  • Access to Microsoft Word
​Schedule:

Schedule will be determined one-on-one with the point of contact. This opportunity is completely remote. Training will be given before first session.
