- A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
Please join with members of the community to build over 150 beds for kids in our community who don't have a bed of their own. No experience is necessary - our volunteer leads will make sure you know what to do and have a great experience. Thursday evening will be cutting and sanding lumber. Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning sessions will be sanding, assembly and finishing of bed components. All tools, safety gear and water will be provided.

Description
Sleep in Heavenly Peace depends on local volunteers to build beds from construction grade lumber, then deliver them to kids aged 3-17 in Dakota, Scott and Le Sueur Counties plus Hopkins. Bed building events are hosted in Burnsville on a monthly basis in the summer months. Sessions are 2 hours and 15 minutes. Volunteer work consists of cutting and sanding lumber, assembling bed components and finishing work. No experience is necessary. All tools, safety equipment and water are are provided. Minimum age to use power tools is 12.

- This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
- Must be at least 12
- 2 hours and 15 minutes
- Wear work clothes and close toed shoes. You will get dusty and may get stained. Dress for the weather, including sunscreen, as much of the work is done outside.
