Volunteer Opportunities:

We seek passionate and dedicated volunteers to join our team in various capacities. Whether you have a knack for research, writing, community engagement, or working with youth, we have a role for you!

Available Roles:

  1. Writing and Editorial Assistance:
  • Help draft and edit content for our website and newsletter.
  • Ensure that all information is scientifically accurate and well-supported by evidence.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to refine content for clarity and engagement.
  1. Research Assistance:
  • Conduct comprehensive research on the therapeutic use of food and dietary supplements.
  • Assist in synthesizing research findings into clear, accessible content.
  1. Database Creation:
  • Assist in creating and maintaining databases for our research and community projects.
  • Ensure data is accurately recorded and easily accessible.
  1. Community Engagement and Food Distribution:
  • Participate in food distribution initiatives in the Bronx, helping to ensure access to nutritious food for underserved communities.
  • Engage with community members to promote the benefits of healthy eating.
  1. Hydroponic Food Center Support:
  • Assist with maintaining and operating our hydroponic food center in the Bronx.
  • Help educate the community about sustainable farming practices and the benefits of hydroponic systems.
  1. Youth Engagement and Education:
  • Work with youth volunteers in the community to promote food education.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs focused on nutrition, cooking, and healthy eating habits.
  • Mentor and guide youth volunteers in various community projects.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in food, nutrition, and health equity.
  • Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for community engagement and willingness to work on-site in the Bronx for certain roles.
  • Experience with research and data management is a plus.
  • Enjoy working with youth and have experience in education or mentoring roles.
