If variety is the spice of life, then this is one spicy volunteer opportunity! Volunteers in this role will provide much needed relief breaks throughout the day for volunteers and staff at stations across the BBQ event, ensure your areas stay organized and litter free, relaying messages for vendors and competition teams, and so much more. The Cooking for Kids BBQ event will be held on Saturday, September 7th.

  • Provide relief breaks to others working at stations across the event.
  • Will perform the assigned duties of the individuals they are giving breaks to.
  • Answer any other questions guests or volunteers may have.

Shift info: Ideally looking for volunteers who can work the full shift, but a split shift may be possible as follows:

  • FULL DAY (preferred): 11:00am - 5:00pm
  • 1st Shift: 11:00am - 2:00pm
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Plan to arrive 20 minutes prior to your scheduled shift time for orientation and training.

All volunteers who work the event day will receive tokens redeemable at competition booths for BBQ and beverages as our way of saying, Thank you!

Camp Korey offers children and families an escape from the endless medical treatments that have overshadowed childhood. Campers grow stronger, braver, and build leadership skills that they take into their everyday lives. Our campers have reported an increase in self-esteem, confidence and resilience, along with a network of friends and support to help them through the tough times. We work with a dedicated team of medical professionals and program facilitators to create a medically safe camp adventure. Camp is always free to campers and their families, thanks to our volunteers, donors and supporters.
