ORGANIZATION: FORT BEND COUNTY WOMENS CENTER INC

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Research resources in Fort Bend and surrounding areas to assist Life Skills and Wellness clients with employment and/or adult education needs.
  • This includes, but is not limited to: laptops for low income families, scholarships, free GED or adult learning classes, low cost vocational classes, employment opportunities.
  • Compile comprehensive list of resources for employment/adult education classes
  • Contact existing resources to verify accuracy of existing resources and information listed, updated as needed.
  • Offer encouragement and support.
  • Greet clients in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Abide by the core values of: Service, Passion, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, and Teamwork.
  • Maintain survivor confidentiality at all times.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and team members.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Multi-Tasker with good organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Can fit in with team dynamic or work alone in absence of supervision.
  • Moderate to excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse clientele.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility in schedule.
  • Satisfactory completion on background check and drug screening.

  • An enthusiastic personality is a MUST! We assist those struggling to achieve self-sufficiency. It is a rewarding job, but one that requires a great deal of optimism.
  • By volunteering in this role, you’ll be empowering individuals experiencing homelessness to take a significant impact on their journey and rebuild their lives.
  • Works with clients in a non-judgmental manner while employing victim centered, strengths based, and trauma informed perspective.
  • Support client self-determination.
