Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide court accompaniment for clients engaged in divorce, custody, protective order cases as well as criminal prosecution.
- Provide law enforcement accompaniment for clients that would like to report abuse/assault to a local police department.
- Provide accompaniment to client meetings with District Attorney’s office.
- Provide crisis intervention and trauma informed support for clients as needed.
- Conduct safety planning with accompaniment clients appropriate for their circumstances.
- Assess ongoing needs and provide Fort Bend Women’s Center and community resources as needed.
- Offer encouragement and support.
- Greet clients in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
- Abide by the core values of: Service, Passion, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, and Teamwork.
- Maintain survivor confidentiality at all times.
- Effectively communicate with clients and team members.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Multi-Tasker with good organizational skills and time management skills.
- Can fit in with team dynamic or work alone in absence of supervision.
- Moderate to excellent computer skills.
- Ability to work with diverse clientele.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility in schedule.
- Satisfactory completion on background check and drug screening.
- Completion of 40-hour OAG Direct Service training.

- An enthusiastic personality is a MUST! We assist those struggling to achieve self-sufficiency. It is a rewarding job, but one that requires a great deal of optimism.
- By volunteering in this role, you’ll be empowering individuals experiencing homelessness to take a significant impact on their journey and rebuild their lives.
- Works with clients in a non-judgmental manner while employing victim centered, strengths based, and trauma informed perspective.
- Support client self-determination.
