The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists is a non-profit, charitable organization formed to honour young Chad Butrum who collapsed and died suddenly while playing football at the age of 26 yrs. old with no history of heart disease. It is dedicated to inspire youth to live as its namesake did- anti-substance abuse and alcohol-free, "Healthy body/mind/spirit." (Chad never smoked a cigarette or drank an alcoholic beverage his entire Life, certainly not drugs.)
"Life is a Gift - Chad Safe Driver Campaign for Young People"
We are in need of volunteer services of a Media/Social Media Manager to help launch our newest program, "Life is a Gift - Chad Safe Driver Campaign for Young People." Thousands of young people die annually as victims of drunk drivers, or because they themselves were intoxicated or on drugs, or just not driving safely. This is another way for Chad's Foundation to help safeguard young lives and inspire them by the way he lived his life. He loved all people of all heritages and ages and was always supportive of their dreams. We invite you to visit our website, www.chadfoundation.org, and see how Chad has helped to safeguard 'hearts' through "The Gift of Heart" and inspire and challenge minds and spirits through "The Gift of Art."
The Gift of Heart
To help prevent "Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes." the foundation instituted, "The Chad Preventive Heart Screening Program for student athletes in high schools and colleges and the disenfranchised." To date, we have provided 6,000 free echocardiograms to students and the disenfranchised in 5 states and globally-16 countries of athletes in Austria and 26 countries of athletes in Sweden participating in the "1st and 2nd Homeless Streetsoccer World Cups."
The Gift of Art
The Chad Players have provided 6 off Broadway multi-cultural performances to challenge the mind and heal the spirit, including their production of "Days of Wine and Roses" which was sponsored by "The Atlantic City Commission on Missing & Abused Children" as the community event of the year to show teens the deleterious effects substance abuse can have on the family. - "The Gift of Heart and Art." www.chadfoundation.org

Mission Statement
The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists' mission is two-fold: First, to raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes and Students through educational lectures, videos, and preventive "Cardiovascular Screenings to High Schools, Colleges, Athletic organizations, and the Disenfranchised," which also identify early cardio risk factors. Secondarily, our mission as artists is to create/produce/sponsor art - film, theatre, and books that celebrate American stories of all heritages and provide inspiring role models. Chad is dedicated to showing the inherent diversity of our country - the struggles, joys, and dreams of all Americans and providing a format for artists of all heritages to showcase their talents.
