STEM Montessori Academy of Canada (SMAC-SIAC) is a registered not-for-profit organization specializing in science, technology, engineering, and math. (STEM) programming is open to all students with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application. The SMAC will specialize in an advanced bar-none. STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)



We are expanding our programming to industry-specific, hands-on experiences. We require Volunteers for Campus prep, decor, sign, and resource set up, greeters, fob key distribution, room allocation, and other logistics to help us keep the momentum going in support of the growth and development of these programs. We ask you to join us in continuing to serve the youth in our community.


Time Commitment: 4-8 hours per week from July 16th to August 16, 2024



Responsibilities:

⦁ Assist with setting up classrooms, auditoriums, or other event spaces according to pre-determined layouts.

⦁ Decorate event spaces with signage, balloons, or other materials as instructed.

⦁ Set up tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, and other resources needed for the event.

⦁ Greet visitors with a warm smile and provide them with information about the event and campus layout.

⦁ Assist with room allocation, directing guests to their designated areas.

⦁ Assist with disassembling event setups and packing away supplies after the event concludes.

⦁ Ensure all event spaces are left clean and organized.



Qualifications:

⦁ A keen eye for accuracy and ensuring a well-organized environment. You should be comfortable arranging furniture, equipment, and decorations according to a plan.

⦁ Strong ability to collaborate with other volunteers and staff, following instructions and communicating clearly with guests.

⦁ Willingness to adjust to changing needs and handle unexpected situations calmly and with a positive attitude.

⦁ Must be able to move and carry the stuff as required.

⦁ Prior experience in event setup, customer service, or hospitality is required.
