Qualifications:
Two years of experience in Gerontology or a related field.
Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation.
Good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, strong computer skills, excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work as part of a team or independently.
Possess the ability to lift, bend and push a minimum of 10 lbs. without difficulty is required.
Responsible to:
Center Manager, Deputy Director and Executive Director
Nature of Job:
Assist the Center Manager with the day-to-day management of the Center. This position will be based at a Senior Center and may require rotating between other Senior Centers as needed to perform the duties of the Senior Managers in their absence.
Skills:
1. Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and enjoy working with them.
2. Ability to be sensitive to the needs of older adults and their health issues.
3. Ability to be patient, flexible and innovative .
Duties:
Under the direct supervision of the Center Manager, the following duties will be performed:
1. Perform the duties of the Center Manager in their absence
2. Greet participants and visitors
3. Answer phones/ filing
4. Order congregate meals and maintain reservation system
5. Maintain sign-in sheets (back up for congregate, attendance and census reports)
6. Group service logs/activities including volunteer report
7. Transportation forms
8. Potential member enrollment (30-day trial period)
9. Assumes responsibility for special projects and other job duties assigned by the Center Manager
10. Complete CPR/AED Training
11. All other duties as assigned.
