Hospcie Volunteers are exceptional people. They donate their time ans efforts to provde care and comfort for someone wiht a life limiting illness. They have a passion for helping others ansd make a profound difference in the lives of the patients and their families.
Assured Hospcie Volunteers play a vital part in the lives of our patients and families. Different roles volunteers may play
- Administration: Provides office support for direct patient care (creating patient/family teaching material, mailings, filing, etc.
- Patient care: Provides in-person activities and companionship (reading, life review, listening, watching a patient’s favorite shows, playing board or card games, scrapbooking, yard work, animal care, respite, etc.)
- Bereavement: Provides in-person, phone, or office support for the bereavement program and interacts with the family in a caring and compassionate manner. Assists with arrangements after death, agency memorial services or activities, and community education on end-of-life issues.
