The American Lung Association's signature fundraising event - The Fight For Air Climb - is a staple in the Central Florida community, bringing together hundreds of participants to conquer one of our city's most iconic skyscrapers in the fight for clean air & healthy lungs.

To prepare for the 18th Annual Fight For Air Climb in the spring of 2025, we are looking for volunteers who are eager to help this longstanding event reach new heights. The Fight For Air Climb Committee is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the future of lung health through helping the American Lung Association achieve financial and recruitment goals for this event. We pride our Climb Committee on being a collaborate, supportive group that focuses on strategic prioritites for the greatest results. These priorities are designated to use the various skillsets brought by this group of community leaders and empower every committee member to feel a sense of ownership in the 2025 Fight For Air Climb.

  • Corporate Development
  • Team & Participant Development
  • Marketing
  • Logistics

Commitments

  • Give/Get: All Fight For Air Climb Committee Members asked to lead by example and strive for a $1,500 Give/Get. This threshold can be reached by personal & team fundraising, secured sponsorship, and/or recruited teams.
  • Time: Attend monthly committee meetings (90 minutes) and approximately 3-6 hours per month outside of scheduled meetings to complete agreed upon & relevant tasks.

Description

For more than 120 years, people living in America have trusted the American Lung Association to protect their lungs, whether it is researching treatments & cures for lung disease, keeping kids off tobacco, including e-cigarettes, or advocating for laws that protect the air well all breathe. Because when you can't breathe, nothing else matters.

The American Lung Association's mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. We do this through education, advocacy, and research.

More than 20 million individuals each year are helped by the Lung Association's programs & initiatives. We support everyone in this country through education, advocacy, & research. We impact lives by working to defeat lung cancer, championing clean air for all, improving the quality of life for those living with lung disease & their families, and creating a tobacco free future.

In Central Florida, we host two signature fundraising events - The Fight For Air Climb & LUNG FORCE Run/Walk 5K. For more information about either event, please contact Central@lung.org.
