Giving your time and energy to our shelter animals is an exceptionally satisfying activity. Just ask any volunteer who's walked an exuberant shelter dog, coaxed a new shelter cat out of her shell, or watched a family connect with and adopt a shelter pet. Volunteers help with essential shelter activities including"
Assist with the cleaning and sanitizing of dog and cat enclosures following our "deep cleaning" and "spot cleaning" protocols, paying special attention to practices that limit disease transmission.
Assist with outfitting each enclosure with comfortable and enriching dcor once cleaning is finished.
Assist with moving dogs to and from outdoor yard spaces to allow for AM or PM potty time.
Assist with moving cats to alternative spaces, as needed.
Assist with the feeding and watering of both cats and dogs, including the preparation of special diets.
Provide scheduled AM or PM in-kennel enrichment items for both cats and dogs according to our Enrichment Boards.
Assist with washing, drying, and folding laundry using our commercial grade washer and dryer.
Assist with washing and sanitizing dishes using our commercial grade dishwasher.
Complete animal monitor sheets, out-of-kennel enrichment sheets, and in-kennel enrichment sheets, as appropriate.
