Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the Alachua County Bowling Competition on Saturday, July 13th. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following roles:

  • Monitor assigned lanes to ensure bowlers compete in the correct order and to alert competition teams of any issues with the lanes.
  • Run scores and other messages from lanes to competition management team.
  • Distribute lunch to athletes and volunteers.
  • Prepare and present awards at the conclusion of competition.

No knowledge of the sport is required and all training will be provided on-site. Volunters will receive a free Special Olympics Florida T-shirt for their participation. A record of community service hours can also be provided upon request.

Description

Special Olympics Florida provides sports training and Olympic-style competition to more than 60,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities throughout the state. Special Olympics Florida is a Level I Accredited Program (highest level of accreditation granted by SOI) and is divided into 11 area programs, which cover over 55 counties.
