Recruiting Organization: 16 Strong Project Inc

16 Strong Project is excited to be recruiting for our Youth Advocacy Board! Our goal is to involve youth in our program and resource development as well as provide guidance to this group to be leaders and advocates around mental health and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) in their own schools and communities. Together, we are combatting the youth mental health crisis by empowering youth leaders and uplifting youth voices.

We are looking for a group of creative, resourceful, hard-working youth ages 14-24 to join our Youth Advocacy Board who:

  • Are interested in mental health education and awareness-building
  • Are dedicated to making their community a more equitable place
  • Are able to inspire other youth and adults to action for change
  • Are interested in collaborating with like-minded peers from across the country
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organization skills
  • Want to grow as a leader and mental health advocate

Interested in joining us? Or know someone who would be a great fit and benefit from working with us? Here is a link to sign up! Please also feel free to email with a brief introduction of who you are and why you are interested in joining our youth board.

The positions are for the full 2024-2025 academic year, and we estimate that the time commitment is only about 5-6 hours per month. Our meetings take place via Zoom, so students can be located anywhere to be part of our team! While the position is for at least this upcoming school year, almost all of our youth continue their involvement across multiple years.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out via email:

Who we are: 16 Strong Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering resilience to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) through student-led initiatives, educational workshops, school partnerships, and community outreach. 16 Strong strives to continue conversations that help young people recognize and navigate the challenges they are facing as a result of ACEs.
