Team Members (volunteers) will choose the specific team that they would like to join at our 90 minute orientation where they will have the opportunity to learn more about volunteering with The Cupcake Girls. Volunteer hours are requested to complete a minimum of five hours per month on their dedicated team; complete assigned tasks, attend monthly team meetings, etc., in our Portland office (unless the role is remote/hybrid).
*Note: Participant Advocate team requires more than five hours of volunteer time per month.

Team Members will need to complete a $17 background check before onboarding for the safety of our Participants (financial assistance available if needed). Remote volunteer opportunities are open Nationally; that’s right! You don’t have to be physically present in Portland or Las Vegas to volunteer! We also offer one-time volunteer opportunities for large groups. If interested, please contact: alyssa.tolva@thecupcakegirls.org.

Team Descriptions

Operations (remote opportunities)

  • Networking - going into the community, networking, helping table at events, help find more volunteers.

  • Partner - meeting with, sourcing, building relationships with our Partners (those offering services, goods, or support to our Participants for pro bono or discounted costs).

  • Volunteer Care - organize volunteers and volunteer events, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, help with onboarding new volunteers.

  • Marketing & Social Media - design social media posts, create graphics, help with advertising campaigns, write press releases, and distribute flyers.

Operations (in-person only)

  • Events - help plan and execute different events we host throughout the year.

  • Hospitality - bake those cupcakes! Help cater events.

  • Office (some tasks can be completed remotely, but the majority must be in-person) - clean and organize office, take inventory for the free store, help with administrative tasks, assist with gaining donations for gifts and other needs.

Participants Services (Programs Teams) - must be with us for 30 days before you can apply for this volunteer position. If you plan to be on either of these teams, you would be placed on the Resource team for 30 active days. For Participant Advocates, a required training is needed which is hosted two times per year.

  • Participant Advocate - this position is more than 5 hours per month as you are working one-on-one with Participants to help make and reach goals as well as setting them up with our community Partners to receive services.

  • Resources (remote opportunities) - help keep all of our community partners and resources up to date in our online system. This is heavily administrative work as well as research and data.

Mission Statement

The Cupcake Girls provides nonjudgmental and confidential support through respect, resources and relationships to those in all realms of the adult entertainment industry, including sex workers and those affected by sex trafficking. Through direct care and community resources, we partner with these individuals and empower them in their pursuits. In order to best serve the varied needs of the adult entertainers we support, The Cupcake Girls offers a range of both in-house services that we feel we are uniquely able to provide, as well as referrals to external care providers when we've identified existing professionals and organizations that meet our high standards and have proven themselves trustworthy working with the adult entertainment community. We partner with our clients to build comprehensive, holistic plans to help them pursue their goals and objectives, working to ensure that we're matching the right solutions to the right individual at the right time.
