Newington Green Alliance is a UK registered charity committed to nurturing compassionate connections and understanding in order to help people transcend the ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic divides that prevent community bonds. NGA is focused primarily in the London boroughs of Hackney and Islington.

The Workshop Design Volunteer will help to design and plan specialised workshops designed to promote compassion and understanding across differences as part of building diverse, supportive and sustaining community.

The volunteer should have the following skills-

  • Experience in designing educational or community-focused workshops or appropriate transferable skills.
  • Experience in designing educational or community-focused workshops or appropriate transferable skills.

  • Creativity in developing engaging and interactive workshop content.

  • Ability to tailor workshops to diverse audiences and community needs.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Passion for community building and social inclusion.

  • Understanding of group dynamics

  • Ability to access the boroughs of Islington and Hackney for events several times per month.

The team will carry out the following tasks-

  • Deliver engaging and interactive workshops that help to build compassion and understanding among participants.

  • Facilitate discussions and activities that promote understanding, compassion, and community building.

  • Adapt workshop delivery to suit different audiences and settings.

  • Gather, analyse, and respond to participant feedback to improve future offerings.

  • Work collaboratively to ensure the smooth execution of all workshops.

  • Attract participants to workshops and other events.

  • Maintain supportive and productive relations with and between participants of NGA workshops and events.

NGA became a UK registered charity (1190473) in July 2020.

We are an volunteer led organisation with over 40 volunteers and a wide range of projects geared toward building connection and relationship across all the many differences in the Newington Green area of London.

Vision - the change we want to see: For Newington Green to be a place where people of all kinds thrive in an atmosphere of solidarity and mutuality. Mission - our purpose: Building strong, sustaining community connections across differences, to better the lives of everyone in the Newington Green and and surrounding areas.
