The Grant Writer spearheads the organization's initiatives to secure funding from private foundations, government agencies, corporations, and other grant-making bodies. This role includes overseeing the grant application process, identifying funding opportunities, writing proposals, and managing grant compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • At least 5 years of experience in grant writing and fundraising, ideally within the non-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated success in obtaining substantial grant funding.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other grant management software.
  • Familiarity with grant compliance and reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

UNAA is a non-profit organization that has been in existence for over 35 years. It is the largest organization of Ugandans living in North America, with a membership that cuts across different states in the USA and Canada.

UNAA was founded with the aim of uniting and empowering Ugandans living in the diaspora by providing a platform for networking, cultural exchange, and social engagement.
