The Meriwether Lewis Campground on the Natchez Trace Parkway is looking for a dedicated campground host. Nestled in a serene setting, this hidden gem offers a peaceful retreat for visitors. As a host, you'll enjoy the tranquil environment and engage with nature enthusiasts while helping to maintain the campground's welcoming atmosphere. Goal/Outcome of Position:
Provide orientation and information on park resources and safety positive professional manner while representing the National Park Service.
Help visitors make personal connections to park resources and values to inspire stewardship and enjoyment.
Camp Host duties include:
Helping visitors check in to their campsites, informing visitors of campground/park regulations, performing general cleanup around the campground, notify park staff of issues that require their attention, such as maintenance or law enforcement issues.
Park staff will provide training and support on host duties and will supply all necessary equipment for the position. Hosts will routinely operate a golf cart in the campground and perform duties independently without direct supervision.
Uniform: Required to wear volunteer uniform: shirts/hat/jacket provided by park; pants, close toed shoes, and belt provided by volunteer.
On-site RV pad with hook-ups (water, sewer, electric) is available. A minimum of 32 hours per week (24 hours per person for a couple) is required for 3 months. A minimum of 3 months is required but opportunities may be available for up to 6 months. Couples wishing to apply should complete an application for each person.
