Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the Northeast Area Volleyball Invitational on Saturday, July 13th at Legacy Park in Alachua.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the following roles:

  • Setting up the venue and assisting with various logistics throughout the competition.
  • Keep score of games and provide results to competition team at the conclusion of each game.
  • Distribute lunch to registered delegation members.
  • Prepare and present awards to athletes at the conclusion of competition.

No knowledge of the sports is needed and all volunteers receive a FREE Special Olympics Florida T-Shirt and lunch during their shift. A record of Community Service hours can also be provided upon request.

Special Olympics Florida provides sports training and Olympic-style competition to more than 60,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities throughout the state. Special Olympics Florida is a Level I Accredited Program (highest level of accreditation granted by SOI) and is divided into 11 area programs, which cover over 55 counties.
