Do you enjoy helping others?
We are seeking compassionate and reliable volunteers to provide essential assistance to our residents who use wheelchairs, enabling them to fully participate in religious services held in our on-site chapel. This is a rewarding opportunity to foster spiritual well-being and community connection.
As a Wheelchair Assistance Volunteer, you will:
- Provide mobility assistance: Safely escort residents using wheelchairs to and from the chapel before and after services.
- Offer in-service support: Assist residents with tasks such as managing bulletins, adjusting hearing devices, or finding comfortable positions during worship.
- Respond to individual needs: Be available to assist residents who may need to return to their rooms or require other assistance during services.
- Contribute to a positive experience: Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment where residents can connect with their faith.
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Empathetic and patient: You approach interactions with kindness and understanding.
- Dependable and responsible: You are committed to your scheduled shifts.
Schedule:
Time Commitment:
- Regular weekly shifts available:
- Sundays: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
- Wednesdays: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
- Occasional opportunities to support special holiday services such as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

Lyngblomsten provides compassionate care to older adults through residential and community services. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed to explore over 100 unique and varied opportunities. While short-term options may be available periodically, we encourage longer-term commitments given the exceptional level of orientation, training and on-going education Lyngblomsten provides in support of its volunteers.
