Getaway Growth is proud to present it's second benefit dinner, a special evening celebrating our work. We showcase the transformative experiences of our students, featuring inspiring stories from our most recent participants. Through these narratives, our donors witness the profound impact of their support and our programs have on the lives of those we serve.

As we prepare for the upcoming second Benefit Dinner in October this year, we anticipate an even more exceptional event, with an array of new stories, captivating entertainment, and a selection of auction items.

To ensure the success of our silent auction, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Silent Auction Procurement Chair to be part of our fundraising committee and would volunteer to:

  • Item Acquisition: Identify, reach out to, and secure donations for silent auction items from businesses, individuals, and organizations.
  • Donor Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with donors, ensuring they feel appreciated and informed about the impact of their contributions.
  • Item Organization: Catalog and manage auction items, ensuring each is accurately described and attractively presented.
  • Event Coordination: Work closely with the fundraising committee team to ensure a seamless integration of the silent auction into the evening’s program.
  • Promotion: Help promote the auction items before and during the event to maximize interest and bidding.
  • During Event: Assist with quick and easy checkout for bidders.

If you have a passion for our mission and the skills to help make our Benefit Dinner a success, we would love to hear from you. Your efforts will play a crucial role in supporting our work and enabling us to continue making a difference in the lives of our participants.

Mission Statement

Getaway Growth is a 501(c)3 dedicated to removing barriers and facilitating access to international travel and unique educational opportunities for underserved youth in the United States. By planning and providing fully-funded trips, with a combined multidisciplinary and immersive global experience, we offer students an opportunity of a lifetime.

As our world becomes increasingly interconnected and we experience an era of unprecedented world challenges, it is imperative for our youth to be aware of how they are interrelated with people in other parts of the world. At Getaway Growth, we believe enriching opportunities such as transformative travel and experiential learning prepare students to develop the nuance and understanding needed for real-world interactions and become global leaders of tomorrow. Too often underrepresented communities face insurmountable obstacles in participating in these enriching experiences. It is our mission to remove barriers and facilitate access to international travel for underserved youth in the United States by developing and providing fully-funded programs for our student cohort, helping expand their mindset of possibilities and see the many opportunities and paths available to them. Since our founding in 2021, Getaway Growth has partnered with non-profit organizations and community leaders in Kenya to organize diverse, equitable, and transformative travel experiences for our student cohort. Two cohorts the previous summers have participated in a two-week educational program exploring intercultural competence, ethical service learning, and environmental stewardship in Kenya. Last year, Getaway Growth also expanded it's curriculum introducing social entrepreneurship and space exploration.
