ORGANIZATION: Signature Hospice

"There are three things extremely hard: steel, a diamond, and to know oneself." --Benjamin Franklin.

Contribute to others and make a difference. Is this the year you do something good for others that is also good for you?

Are you searching for a way to make a positive difference in your community? Volunteering with Signature Hospice could be that difference. Volunteering in hospice will deepen your awareness of the healing presence you have to share, develop listening skills, empathy, and help you examine your relationship with life and death.

Supporting patients and families on hospice teaches us, heals us, and often makes us think of things we could have said or done. It has a way of addressing the future by helping us look at our past and engages us in the present. You will be profoundly changed by this calling.

If this opportunity intrigues you and has you wanting to explore ways to develop yourself, reach out to me, Susy Wagner, 458-658-1579 Let's chat over tea-hot or iced, and discuss potential roles, including direct patient support, telephone volunteer, and more.

The training we provide allows one to be a calming presence, your understanding of end-of-life care, disease progressions, and the best ways to support the patient and their loved ones. We discuss active listening, honoring choice, and meet the unique needs of each family. You will assist in non-medical tasks; focusing on emotional and spiritual relief.
