ORGANIZATION: Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas

Catholic Charities of Northeast KS supports newly arrived refugee children with summer programming. This year we will once again host our own CCNEK Summer Camp, July 22nd - 25th, (Monday - Thursday) for approximately 30 students at Bishop Ward High School in KCK. This Summer Camp will give children between the age of 6-14, the opportunity to meet and interact with other children their age who’ve recently arrived, as well as provide ELL and Cultural Orientation activities, and other summer camp activities.

We need volunteers to assist with the activities as classroom assistants, and licensed drivers to drive our Catholic Charities vehicles to assist in transporting the participants to and from camp and their homes. Before the camp begins, we will have a volunteer training for all the volunteers assisting within the classrooms. Please sign up for as many slots as you are available and willing to help with.

Volunteers interested in driving must be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record.
