About Us

The Santos Creations Educational Foundation (SCEF) is dedicated to improving educational standards and opportunities across Africa. We are seeking a skilled and experienced back-end developer to develop robust APIs and back-end services supporting our website redesign.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain server-side logic and APIs.
Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
Implement security and data protection measures.
Design and implement data storage solutions.
Conduct user testing and gather feedback for improvements.
Collaborate with front-end developers to establish objectives and design cohesive code.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in server-side languages, particularly PHP and Node.js.
Strong experience with database management and design using MySQL.
Experience with API development and integration.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for integration purposes.
Familiarity with caching solutions such as Redis.
Knowledge of DNS protection services like Cloudflare.
Ability to conduct user testing and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Documentation and Workflow

Use tools like Swagger for API documentation.
Maintain internal documentation for coding standards and workflows.
Use Git for version control with feature branches, development branch for integration, and main branch for production.
Implement a pull request-based code review process.
Set up CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
