We are in search of volunteers to help glean with Farm to Pantry. In order to achieve our goals of reducing food waste and increasing access to healthy food to marginalized communities, we rely on our volunteers to help us glean. Sign up to be a Harvesting Hero!
Duties and Responsibilities: Volunteer Gleaners help us glean produce from a property in Sonoma County. A volunteer shift consists of spending up to 3 hours outside, harvesting produce. Farm to Pantry will provide tools and other garden supplies.
Times: Shifts are typically from 830am-1130am, Tuesday-Friday
Location: Different properties around Sonoma County! You will know the general area of the glean when you sign up, and we will send out the exact location prior to your volunteer shift.
Additional Information: No prior experience or knowledge is necessary! We provide all of the information and tools you'll need to harvest. Be ready to work outside, and please wear closed-toe shoes. Bring layers, sun protection, and water.
*Please note, many of our sites do not have restrooms available*

Mission Statement
Who We Are: Farm to Pantry is a Sonoma County non-profit whose mission is to rescue produce that would otherwise go to waste and reallocate it to people facing food injustice such as seniors, children, low-income families, persons with disabilities and people experiencing homelessness or unemployment. We lean on the support of our amazing support system of volunteers like you! What We Do: Glean: collect gradually and bit by bit; gather leftover grain or other produce after a harvest. We harvest surplus produce in gardens, farms, and on people's properties, and donate it to families, individuals and organizations involved with food insecurity across Sonoma County. In 2023 we harvested over 400,000 pounds of food, and since our founding in 2008 we have delivered over 7.5 million servings of fruits and vegetables to folks across the county!
