We are seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to join our team as Kennel Volunteers. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our dogs. Your efforts will directly contribute to the well-being and happiness of the dogs in our care, making a significant impact on their quality of life and overall health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation:

    • Clean and disinfect kennels, crates, and play areas to maintain high hygiene standards.
    • Regularly sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all dog areas.
    • Dispose of waste materials safely and appropriately.
  • Laundry:

    • Wash, dry, and fold bedding, towels, and other items used for the dogs.
    • Ensure that clean linens are readily available for use.
  • General Maintenance:

    • Perform routine checks and minor repairs on kennels and equipment to ensure everything is in good working condition.
    • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Kennel Manager promptly.

  • Health and Safety:

    • Follow all health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of disease and ensure the safety of both the dogs and volunteers.
    • Observe dogs for any signs of illness or distress and report concerns to the Kennel Manager.
  • A genuine love for dogs and a strong commitment to their welfare.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a regular schedule.
  • Gain hands-on experience in animal care and kennel operations.
  • Develop skills in cleaning, maintenance, and animal husbandry.
  • Be part of a supportive community of animal lovers and advocates.
  • Make a meaningful difference in the lives of dogs in need.

Note: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Training and orientation will be provided to all volunteers prior to starting.

To provide specially trained dogs to people with disabilities to support their personal, social, and occupational independence.


Changing the way the world thinks about disabilities, one dog at a time is our vision.

Using the community, inmates, and at-risk youth in juvenile detention, we rescue dogs and train dogs to become Service Dogs for the disabled. Programs include Service Dogs, Puppy Raisers, and Shelter Dogs.
