Gateway Domestic Violence Services receives many generous donations for our clients currently in shelter. Among these items are clothing of various sizes for adults and children, hygeine and personal care items, nonparishable foods, and new apartment items. We're looking for some organizers willing to donate time and skill to optimizing the use of our storage sheds and make it as easy and efficient as possible for our shelter staff to get clients what they need at a moments notice.

It is summertime and the hot weather makes it difficult to find a good time to do these sometimes laborous tasks. We're looking at early morning shifts during the week and possibly on the weekends for groups of 2-4 volunteers at a time.

Assemble care packages f illed with items from the bulk supply i.e. fill student backpacks to be handed out to children upon arrival at the shelter . Local ARC drop-off for unneeded items. Possible laundry cycles at facility .

Skills Required: Ability to lift heavy bags and boxes of donated clothing, hygiene, and other various items . Patience and flexibility with working outside in the courtyard and the changes in weather. Ability and willingness to do laundry at facility.
