The Finance Director leads all financial matters of the organization and reports to the executive director (ED). The Finance Director will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations as Art of the Heart continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity.

Responsibilities: The Finance Director will be in charge of managing Art of the Heart’s financial information as well as working closely with the Board of Directors to ensure all necessary documents are filed with the State and IRS to keep Art of the Heart in good standing. The responsibilities of the Finance Director can be broken down as follows:

  • Manage AOTH finances including the use of Quickbooks

  • Manage staff reimbursements

  • Prepare bills and other expenses to be paid by the executive director

  • Assist the executive director in creating the organization’s budget

  • Prepare the organization’s financial statements

  • File necessary documents and reports with the State and IRS

Art of the Heart works on bringing the joy and comfort of music to senior citizens, those who are developmentally disabled, isolated pediatric patients & low-income adults, and provides young musicians with a space to showcase their skills in the form of community outreach.

Description

Founded in 2020 and based in San Jose, California, Art of the Heart organizes live concerts at senior living facilities, connecting young musicians to seniors. More than 5,000 have participated in our programs so far.
