Impact & goal of Empower Futurewave Foundation:

Empower Futurewave Foundation works hard to empower underprivileged children, young women, and single mothers through education and literacy services. By providing essential resources and support, we help families in need get back on their feet, achieve stability, and build a brighter future Through our programs, we break cycles of violence, adversity, and poverty, fostering resilience and self-sufficiency in our communities. We offer donations, care packages, mental health support, and educational resources to individuals in need. On average, they help around 150 beneficiaries per month.

Main tasks:

As a volunteer you will be expected to:

1) We are looking for highly motivated volunteers to help our mission of providing access to literacy services to underprivileged kids via online lessons. Looking for volunteers to provide basic English lessons.

2) Volunteer should be good at handling an online class of young kids

3) Volunteer should have basic proficiency of Spanish (as the majority of kids are native Spanish speakers)

4) Volunteers should be comfor6) table being on camera while teaching and engaging with the young kids

5) Volunteers should have a warm personality and should love teaching kids.

6) Ideal volunteer would be high school student who is a rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior. Or any undergraduate student.

This activity is set in the following time zone: Central US

Duration and frequency:
- Duration of session: 1 hr
- Frequency: Once or twice a week
- Length of commitment: 6 months
- Availability: Evergreen

Additional info (what to bring/have):
For this activity, you should have:
- Any prior experience with online teaching
- Basic proficiency in Spanish (2\3 years of high school learning)
- Ability to create and publish weekly lesson plan
- PUNCTUAL
- Strong desire to help and teach

Description

Global Literacy Services: We offer free weekly English and STEM classes to underprivileged children around the world, fostering academic growth and expanding future opportunities.

Support for New Immigrants in Chicago: We provide basic support services to new immigrants in Chicago, including weekly English lessons and assistance with job search and applications. Our goal is to help them become self-sufficient and support their families in their new homeland.

Mindfulness and Yoga Programs: In collaboration with Chicago Public Schools, we deliver mindfulness and yoga sessions to children and teens, promoting mental well-being and holistic development.

Educational Assistance for Girls: We assist girls with school fees to ensure they can continue their education without financial barriers, empowering them to achieve their full potential.

Through these programs, we are committed to creating a nurturing environment where individuals can overcome challenges and build a promising future.
