IT-Sprout is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on empowering individuals, particularly veterans, to become IT specialists. Our mission is to provide comprehensive training, resources, and support to help people transition into rewarding careers in the tech industry.
We are seeking creative and skilled UI/UX Designers to join our volunteer team. As a UI/UX Designer at IT-Sprout, you will play a key role in designing intuitive and engaging user interfaces and experiences for our web applications and training platforms. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while refining your design skills and building your portfolio.
Responsibilities- Design User Interfaces: Create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for our web applications, ensuring a seamless experience for users.
- Conduct User Research: Gather and analyze user feedback to inform design decisions and improve the usability of our applications.
- Create Wireframes and Prototypes: Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas and gather feedback.
- Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively.
- Improve User Experience: Continuously evaluate and enhance the user experience of our applications based on user feedback and usability testing.
- Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and best practices to ensure our projects are cutting-edge and effective.
- Design Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or similar. Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
- Experience: Previous experience in UI/UX design, either professionally or through significant personal projects. A strong portfolio showcasing your design work.
- User-Centric Approach: Ability to empathize with users and design solutions that meet their needs and expectations.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to explain design concepts and decisions to non-design stakeholders.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Passion for the Mission: A genuine interest in helping people, especially veterans, transition into IT careers.
- Skill Development: Enhance your design skills by working on diverse projects.
