Position: Board Assistant
Organization: Healthy Community Lifespaces
Location: Virtual Meetings (Current startup focus in the State of PA with members nationwide)

Healthy Community Lifespaces is dedicated to creating healthier environments and promoting evidence-based wellness practices. Our mission is to empower communities and individuals, fostering informed choices that lead to healthy and balanced lifespaces. We believe in creating harmony across physical, social, psychological, and community factors.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with fellow board members and organizational leadership to maintain board meeting notes, polls for meeting times, and other administrative needs.
Review documents to ensure transparency, accuracy, and clarity.
Provide insights to ensure clarity in documents.
Participate in discussions about innovative ideas and opportunities with a focus on achieving our organization's objectives.
Contribute to fundraising strategies that align with our mission, ensuring diverse and sustainable revenue streams.
Provide input on grant applications, proposals, and fundraising campaigns.
Collaborate with other board members to facilitate partnerships and networking opportunities that further our mission.
Contribute to brainstorming sessions aimed at breaking down implementation barriers for wellness policies and healthy living spaces.
Qualifications:
Passion for promoting health and wellness in diverse communities, aligning with our organization's mission.
Ability to collaborate effectively, offering diverse perspectives and fostering a supportive board environment.
Strong computer skills.
Time Commitment:
The estimated time commitment is currently approximately 1-3 hours/month, especially available for board meetings notes

Mission Statement

Healthy Community Lifespaces’ mission is to provide equity, innovative strategies, and education for all systems, to transform into inclusive healthy environments designed to empower communities and individuals to make evidence-based choices in their pursuit of healthy lifespaces. We believe that each individual is capable of integrating into their communities to live and thrive in a healthy, sustainable, fulfilling, and balanced quality of life while interacting with one another in harmony.

Description

We have done networking with organizations and individuals with practical ideas and the facilitation of steps necessary to solve implementation barriers in having wellness policies and healthy living spaces put into practice. We have done children's gardening programs, advocated for equity in school wellness policies, talks on creating healthy environments, contest for children and teens to encourage healthy lifestyles. We have a collaborative partnership with PDE and PDH for an annual contest with high school students to provide artwork promoting health and equity, the cover of the SHIP State Health Improvement plan.
