ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross of Idaho and Montana

Every day, the American Red Cross responds to local disasters including home fires, floods, and wildfires. That’s why we're looking for compassionate and committed individuals to join our Disaster Action Team and extend a helping hand to neighbors during their most challenging moments.

As a Disaster Action Team volunteer, you will help ensure our community members have access to safe shelter, food, clothing, and other basic needs following a disaster (such as a home fire). Once you've completed your initial training, your shifts will be on-call, allowing you to respond promptly to local emergencies, connect individuals with recovery resources, and provide empathetic care to those affected. With experience and further training, you may also choose to apply to larger-scale disaster response efforts with the Red Cross. Volunteer today to help ensure families don't have to face tough times alone!

Ready to make a difference? Here's how to get started!

  1. Go to to complete our online application. It takes less than 10 minutes!
  2. Once your application and background check are complete, a member of our team will reach out for a quick screening call. This allows us to make sure this position is the perfect fit for your interest, availability, and needs.
  3. We’ll get you connected to provide all necessary training to ensure you are supported and successful as a volunteer.
