Mission Statement

Ecology in Classrooms & Outdoors inspires students to care for nature and their local communities through hands-on science education and climate action. ECO connects students to nature to empower generations of young people as stewards and leaders working to build stronger, resilient communities.

Description

Ecology in Classrooms & Outdoors (ECO) connects students to nature to empower generations of young people as stewards and leaders working to build stronger, resilient communities.

We bring students outdoors into their communities and nature to foster stewardship and deepen their sense of place. We develop hands-on K-12 ecology curricula and programs to connect academic content to real-world challenges and human action to environmental health.

We work towards environmental justice through greater access to ecology education. We aim to prioritize underserved students and to provide formal and informal educators with the resources and support to integrate environmental education and climate action into their classrooms and take the learning outdoors.
